Being one of a matched pair, this  Chinese porcelain vase, and the other,  features a flattened rim over a cylindrical neck with applied  Kan or ears. The ovoid body bears 4 Taotie masks, (the metal or fabric  rings are missing) and is decorated throughout with pheasants and birds amongst Peony blooms.

To the base in underglaze blue are double rings suggesting Kang Hsi period, though more likely 19th century revival.

Glaze firing marks are evident as spots and blemishes however both vases are presented in very good condition, having no discernible cracks or restoration.

Size 42 cm high x 20 cm diameter

A stunning pair which  present exceedingly well as a pair, however, they are  priced singly for purchase.
