Art Deco side tables of Indian origin
Inlaid Rosewood
£480.00
A pair of fine South Indian Art Deco rosewood occasional tables,
Each featuring intricate and elaborate inlay to the the tops formed from slivers of ivory and semi precious hard stones. The depiction appears to be an Ambari carrying an elaborate Howdah, framed by a procession, possibly a depiction of the grand Mysore Dasara festival, circa 1930,
Each table is of a striking angular design so typical of the 1920s / 30s deco era, with each leg bearing a finely set inverted triangle of a contrasting colour, again a typical design feature of the era.
Each 37 cm x 37 cm x 47 cm,
Ivory Registration code WPNENY1X
Both tables are stable and strong in joint.
Sunlight fade to the wood top of one table is evident
The inlay is complete and without damage
