This original lamp features a star shaped polyhedron shade made of pressed pink glass. The base is of a graceful female nude figure sat upon a rocky outcrop holding aloft the support for the brass lamp holder

A striking and fine original piece fully functional and complete with flex and an in-line switch.

Very good condition throughout, no cracks, no restoration.

Age date range 1930 to 1960.

August Walther & Söhne AG was established in 1888 by August Walther. In 1932 the company merged with Saxonian Glass, and was renamed Sachsische Glasfabrik August Walther and Söhne AG. Walther & Söhne are best known for their superb range of Art Deco centrepieces, figurines, bowls and vases. Like many German businesses, the company was nationalised after World War 2, and became VEB Sachsenglas. Many of their art deco designs continued production under this name until the 1960's. The company closed in the early 1990's.Walther & Sohne
