19th C Ships Gimballed Oil Lamp . Converted

An antique gimbal  oil lamp dating to the 19th or early 20th century which has had a conversion for mains electric use

It is an item of historic interest from a period of sail shipping when the only lighting  on board would be from whale oil lamps.

Featuring brass frame work and etched copper font support.

Converted at some point in the past, this item does exhibit cosmetic damage, however the gimbal is fully intact and it has new wiring installed with earth bonding for use on UK mains supply.
